Lodi Beer Company
The first thing you notice in this very large open space is the shiny copper 15 bbl brew system right in the middle of the brewpub. This is a very exciting welcome to a brewer. I was traveling and just stopped in for one beer. Bet you can’t drink just one.
On the left was the Southern English Brown Ale and on the right the Mo Kel Ko Red Ale. The brown had a malty nose with a sweet, caramel malt flavor. The beer was clean, but slightly one dimensional. I’d like to have had a kick of additional flavor or malt. The red was pretty good. Rich and malty with a touch of chocolate malt. Hops were noticeable in the aroma and the flavor. It finished with a clean, nutty dryness.
All in all a worth while side trip.
