Moylan’s Moylander Double IPA
We dined al fresco this evening as we enjoyed the Moylan’s tap takeover on Pint Night. The Moylan’s DIPA (Double/Imperial India Pale Ale) was the star of the show this round. The pour encouraged a big creamy white head that lasted forever. A beautiful rich copper color that was a little cloudy. The aroma was malty with pretty strong pine and citrus hop nose. My initial sip was malty not bitter. Hop flavor was noticeable, but not overly bitter. The finish was a dry hop bitterness that was well-balanced with the malt. The DIPA weighs in at about 8.5% abv.
I paired this DIPA with a horseradish skirt steak with roasted garlic fingerling potatoes. The hoppy beer combined with the spice horseradish created some exciting reactions in my mouth. Every bite cried for another sip. Perfect!
Overall I really enjoyed this DIPA and I’ll order it in the future.
